For its inaugural test drive, VM takes on the Audi R8.
Around 3:30 PM, on a weekday, I am paralyzed by traffic due to an accident that has closed a very busy viaduct. The travel time from the last intersection to my destination, the town beneath the viaduct, should only take a minute or two. I’ve been here for thirty. Directly in front of me is a school bus of kids, bubbling with their after-school enthusiasm, hanging out windows, and shouting. Camera phones are out in full force, and a man travelling opposite of me has taken to maneuvering his jeep with his knees as he desperately tries to snap a picture. And on a hill overlooking the street, a car dealership’s employees on their lunch break point and gawk at what they see down below. Strangely enough, though, none of this was directed at the no-casualty, run-of-the-mill traffic collision. They were all pointing…at me, or, to be more exact, at the 2008 Audi R8 I was driving that day.

We surfed the web and came up with a random number of sites that will get you addicted and procrastinating more important work in no time.
Simply put, the internet is an amazing place. There are millions upon millions of websites out there just waiting to be discovered. The only hard part is navigating your way through them in hopes of finding something really interesting, maybe just what you were looking for or maybe just what you needed even if you didn’t know it. Sure, you could always use a search engine to find it, but I’d like to make the task even easier for you. Check out the list I’ve compiled of fun, funny, useful, and definitely cool websites for you to explore at your leisure. Step aside Google. A crop of new search engines wants to help you find it, whatever “it” may be. VM highlights two contenders: Wolfram|Alpha and Bing.
So, last week I wanted to find a good, healthy recipe for stir-fried chicken. I have all sorts of recipe books, but none of them had such a recipe, so I turned to the internet. Now, I had another choice to make. Where would I go to find this recipe? I had tons of options: Yahoo, Google, Ask.com, and even a search engine called Dogpile, but which one would provide me with the information I was looking for? Of course, I could always turn to trusty ol’ Google, but here is where knowing information about Google and some new search engines would have been handy. Had I known what the differences were between all of these search engines, I would have known where to go to find a good recipe and the nutritional facts to go with it. So to make sure no one else is ever in this predicament, I’ve researched two new search engines looking to put a dent in Google’s stronghold.

A look back at the timeline of General Motors’ seemingly predictable collapse finds a history riddled with attempts to avoid the unavoidable—change.
In the last year or so, it has become increasingly obvious that several different sectors of the American workforce were going to experience some rather drastic changes. With Wall Street collapsing and the subsequent fallout from the stock market, unemployment numbers are at an all-time high. While some experts had correctly predicted this market collapse and what it was going to mean for the US workforce, it still seemed to sneak up on the country as a whole, caught the majority of us (financial gurus notwithstanding) by surprise, and we're only now learning how to cope with everything.

VM investigates internet job scams that prey on those with a penchant for driving and desperate for work.
Films like The Transporter and BMW's The Hire, among others, glorify a fictional character archetype: the driver.
AKA, the wheelman, the driver is the super-cool automotive mercenary who overcomes the odds against him with stunt-tacular mastery of the automobile. It's understandable that the undeniably suave and exciting pastiche of chauffeur and bodyguard would be the kind of person an enthusiast would like to emulate, freelancing in nefarious undertakings for a living, being on call to make getaways, and so forth.
